La Madonnina A Project By: Atelier Architecture Project Summary: The landscape isn’t something to look at – it’s something to design with. La Madonnina is a contemporary home shaped by its setting, positioned between woodland and open countryside. Project Detail: The design begins with a central courtyard, a moment of pause and arrival, before the house opens out to long views across the landscape. From this threshold, spaces unfold through light, outlook and material, drawing the outside in and creating a continuous relationship with the surroundings. The building responds directly to the site, topography, trees and orientation, shaping both form and experience. Openings are carefully placed to frame views, while overhangs and projecting volumes provide shelter, shade and spatial rhythm. A balance of openness and enclosure, where each space is connected to the landscape in a different way. A home shaped by light, setting and everyday experience. Architecture that supports calm, clarity and connection to place.
