The Dancing House By: Glen Thomas Architecture For this home in Caldicot, South East Wales, our primary objective was for the modern architecture to express the movement of a structure twisting and turning naturally ‘dancing’ as it traversed the varying levels of the sloped plot. Stripped down to its essentials, the minimal forms and clean lines created a series of interlinked volumes; the dark, sunken cinema/ evening room stepping up to the open plan kitchen and dining areas, flooded with natural light from the full height thin frame glass panels, with sliding glass doors opening out onto the viewing terrace overlooking the countryside towards the Severn Estuary.
