Family Gardens with a Stunning Modern Twist
By: Land + Form Design
When our clients approached us, they had a clear vision: a garden that felt like an extension of their lifestyle. They wanted a space that was both family-friendly and visually striking—adaptable for hosting guests as well as providing space for children’s adventures.
To meet this brief, we developed two stylistic approaches that could unify both the front and rear gardens while offering distinct moods:
- Option One: Bold Geometry
A strong, contemporary scheme featuring sharp lines, structured symmetry, and architectural definition. - Option Two: Soft Curves
A more organic, flowing aesthetic with curved pathways, raised planting borders, and a relaxed atmosphere.
The front garden was the client’s request for a striking entrance feature. We introduced a geometric pattern throughout the driveway that was subtly lit by integrated LED strips, accentuating the crisp lines and casting a soft glow that guided guests after dark.
The rear garden was carefully zoned to cater to three distinct needs: hosting, playing, and relaxing, all while maintaining a central expanse of lawn that unified the space.
At the heart of the space lies a generous lawn. It acts as a visual and functional anchor, surrounded by tropical-style planting that includes varieties of palms, banana plants, and layered underplanting with ferns, philodendrons, and bright bromeliads for seasonal pops of colour.
Hidden behind a screen of dense hedgerow, a “secret garden” awaits. This magical retreat is accessed through a playful arches, leading into a sheltered play area.

We are proud to feature and promote in our architecture magazine: a bold yet family-friendly garden oasis design
