The Jubilee Hotel, Leeds By: Den Architecture The Jubilee Hotel project involves the redevelopment of a historic Grade II Listed Hotel in Leeds. The refurbishment, designed by Den Architecture will include a 43 room ApartHotel, internal courtyard, bar, office space and gym. The Old: Built in 1904, the former Jubilee Hotel was once described as the only remaining ‘Gin Palace’ in Leeds. The retention of the hotels stunning existing features has been a priority for Den Architecture, and the proposals will see the existing building brought back to its former glory, with improvements to the internal layouts and high end contemporary finishes throughout. The New: The scheme includes the redevelopment of the existing Jubilee Hotel building, alongside a new build extension on the corner of East Parade. The new-build element, highlighted by the use of two full height green walls on each end, uses a bold red brick to complement and enhance the distinct terracotta brickwork on the existing Jubilee Hotel. The new building is contemporary in terms of design and aesthetic but assimilates the classical proportions of the existing Jubilee Building.
