The transformation blends heritage with modern comfort, making the most of the stunning surroundings. Although enjoying a south facing frontage, the house sits against the hillside, and inside it was dark, damp and definitely ready for improvements. The priority was to increase the amount of space and bring more light into the home, to make the existing spaces work better, and also to improve the thermal efficiency of the home. Removal of two side extensions from the original farmhouse, allowed new replacement extensions to be added. The first provides a large, vaulted kitchen/diner with bi-fold doors leading onto the patio, bringing the outside in and flooding the space with natural light. The second extension comprises an additional bedroom, and a spacious utility and boot room improving the functional spaces within the home.
