Heritage Sensitivity, Modern Comfort
This project was all about creating balance—between work and home life, old and new, calm and connection.
Two studies were key: one at the rear of the upper ground floor overlooking the garden, the other nestled within the garden itself—quiet, detached, and ideal for focused work.
At garden level, we created a warm, communal space for cooking, sharing meals, and telling stories—a true family hub.
Set within the Camden Square Conservation Area, materials were chosen with care:
- Patinated brown zinc for the rear extension, blending with the London stock brick
- Black zinc for the garden study, offering a more understated, ‘stealth’ appearance
The rest of the house was thoughtfully updated, including a main bedroom suite with a hotel-like feel, and a consistent focus on materiality and lighting throughout.
A project that brings together function, atmosphere, and sensitivity to context.
