Screen and Film School – Brighton By: Greenaway Architecture A contemporary student accommodation building for Brighton’s Screen and Film School has been completed. The building for student housing provider, Alumno Group, is designed by Greenaway Architecture and provides boutique housing for students at the college, including 42 new studios and  60 ensuite rooms set within a striking modern four storey building. The sophisticated mixed use purpose-built student accommodation replaces a tired and architecturally insignificant corner block. It incorporates communal study spaces, a café and cinema room in the basement and an expansive winter garden with a roof terrace framing views over the city. The high-quality accommodation situated on the junction of Brighton’s Lewes Road and Caledonian Road has been welcomed by Brighton and Hove Council. It aims to visually enhance the streetscape, create a dynamic new home for the college and provide greatly needed student housing in the bustling student city. Greenaway Architecture’s key driver was to focus on and enhance the student experience, bringing community living and social interaction into the new building through well considered additional internal and external communal spaces throughout.
