Real Living Oxford – Capturing Energy and Architectural Intent in a Fast Turnaround
By: Wizard Vizuals
Wizard Vizuals were commissioned to produce two external CGIs for a new student accommodation scheme on Between Towns Road in Oxford. The development aimed to provide high-quality, design-led living in a vibrant area of the city, and the images needed to reflect that energy. Created for marketing purposes, the visuals had to feel immediate and engaging—conveying both the building’s character and its fit within a busy urban setting.
Given the tight timeline, we adopted a photography-led approach to ground the project in its real-world context. Site photography was carefully planned to ensure the sun’s position and time of day produced strong directional shadows and highlights. This allowed the architecture to be lit with clarity and depth, giving the final CGIs a dynamic presence without sacrificing realism.
The result was a pair of visuals that balanced accuracy with impact—anchoring the proposal within its Oxford context while projecting a clear sense of life and movement. Delivered on schedule, the images helped support early marketing efforts and convey the project’s ambition from the outset.
