We were delighted to be instructed to work on a project in the picturesque local fishing village of Padstow.
Padstow Harbour Commissioners were extending and refurbishing their Harbour Office and required a structural engineering consultancy to provide engineering designs, calculations, construction support and collaborate with the architectural team and contractors through the delivery of the refurbishment.
The project involved removing the existing hipped roof and adding additional offices and meeting space on the 1st floor to both update the existing facility and allow them to extend their operations as they grow within the Padstow Harbour Authority.
Natural and sustainable materials were chosen that linked the industrial past of both Padstow and, more broadly, Cornwall. They also endeavoured, where possible, to employ the skills of local suppliers, contractors and consultants who have a desire to deliver a more modern and fitting building for the team to operate from.
Form was involved at great depth and felt passionately about providing an excellent service at each stage of the project from initial site visits, ground investigations and the engineering design process.
We are excited to see the final results with an ice cream!
