New Country House – 11,000 sqft contemporary extension to an existing 200 year old threshing barn By: SOTA Design The latest project to have been delivered by SOTA Design is this 11,000 sqft contemporary extension to an existing 200 year old threshing barn built using the local Cotswold stone. SOTA Design’ Client who they worked closely with from the start wanted to create a contemporary home in a small Cotswold village for them and their family to enjoy for many years to come. This is a legacy project. This is what SOTA gave them. The district council were very receptive to the proposals to carve a segment out of the hill side in which to build this boundary pushing design into. One of the key elements to this house is how well it responds to the site and surrounding context.
