The Coach House – A Contemporary Curved Extension By: Light House Studio Situated in a highly desirable woodland location, Light House Studio were engaged to design a curved ground floor extension project in Berkshire.  Light House Studio worked in collaboration with the clients to help realise their aspirations for the project, preparing a scheme for a dynamic contemporary addition that addresses its wonderful woodland setting to create a dramatic space for open-plan family living. The curved extension was developed in direct response to the unusual spacing between two existing buildings. The curved structure allows for maximisation of the space’s potential.  It provides a dramatic focal point to the house whilst also unveiling extensive and framed views of the garden and adjacent woodland area. The project comprises an open-plan kitchen, living and dining space to provide an enlarged and much better connected space, between the main house and the existing annexe. The proposed extension will provide panoramic views of an extensive garden and maximise light and indoor / outdoor connections.
