Introducing: Chantel Wynn and Land + Form Design

Passionate about creating Functional and Beautiful Outdoor Spaces

I have been designing gardens and outdoor spaces for over a decade and still get that same rush of excitement when I begin the design process, from the first site visit, curating vision boards to sketching the conceptual ideas on paper, and of course there’s that moment of pure joy when planning gets approved and when a design starts to take shape.

I studied at Manchester School of Architecture, and I’ll never forget my tutor, John Finlay, telling our class in the first year, “Do you know the difference between architects and landscape architects? The difference is, we know how to draw sexy curves. So, the next time you look at a landscape design, ask yourself — are these curves sexy or not?

My day to day life as a Chartered Landscape Architect is being fortunate to work with  incredibly talented professionals from Architects and engineers to contractors and suppliers. The partnerships you make to ensure every detail, material selection, planting choice are delivered in line with the clients vision. Each project is unique, no two designs are ever the same, which keeps my job fresh and exciting.

When redesigning an outdoor space it can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when it’s hard to envision its full potential. That’s where I come in. My role is to carefully listen to my clients’ ideas, help them see the possibilities, and guide them through the process of creating spaces they’ll love and use. I’m passionate about encouraging people to embrace the outdoors, to see gardens as extensions of their homes.

Gardens have evolved significantly in recent years, with garden rooms, outdoor kitchens and spaces for hosting and entertainment becoming increasingly popular. These additions allow gardens to be enjoyed, no matter the season or weather. As someone from Manchester, I know how unpredictable the weather can be, I believe in creating versatile gardens that can be used year-round come rain, shine or sleet in a day!

Although I’ve been working in the industry for over a decade, my journey as a selfemployed design director at Land + Form is still relatively new. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities I have had to collaborate with so many wonderful clients who have trusted me to transform their outdoor spaces into places where they can relax, entertain, and fully enjoy life outdoors. For me, it’s never just about the design — it’s about enriching people’s lives and creating spaces that bring them joy.
