Penthouse Project, Old Bank Hotel, Oxford UK

Sally was asked to design a new luxury Penthouse Suite with it’s own private terrace for the Old Bank Hotel. This deluxe suite boasts a stunning and unique skyline view of the city of dreaming spires.
Rich forest greens, dark smoked wood tones and warm brass highlights were carefully selected to create a smart and sophisticated palette. These are complimented by warmer pops of glossy raspberry coloured surfaces and burnt orange upholstery for the two dining chairs.
A bohemian mix of velvets and mohair, tribal geometrics and expressionist prints for the seating area cushions give the room a luxurious, layered and relaxed feel and an art deco inspired geometric rug completes the look.
The private terrace boasts quintessential Oxford views of St Mary’s Church with its incredible steeple, All Souls College, the Radcliffe Camera, along with a roof scape which includes most other Oxford Colleges. Additionally the room is adorned with specially curated original British 20th Century art and showcases both framed studies and abstract sculptures by artist Geoffrey Clark.

- Located on Oxford’s famous High Street, the Penthouse is situated atop this independently owned hotel, set within an elegant Georgian property, and boasts unrivalled views of the city’s world-famous landmarks.
- Sally designed luxurious interiors creating an elegant colour palette, soft furnishings, new oak and leather furniture, classic lighting, mirrors and displays of original artworks.
- The Entrance Lobby was completely re-imagined with a new reception desk, bold new colour palette, furnishings and lighting.
- The Library was transformed with new colours, shelving, furniture and soft furnishings.
- Sally’s refurbishment of the Old Bank Hotel elevated it to 5 stars and has been listed in The Sunday Times Ultimate 100 British Hotels as ‘the place to stay in Oxford’
