Occupying two levels within a prestigious Haussmannian building on Boulevard de la Tour-Maubourg in Paris, this 370 m² residence by Dori Hitti Architects is a refined dialogue between Parisian architectural heritage and contemporary living – a balance often explored across the built environment. Rather than competing with the apartment’s classical envelope, the design embraces its generous proportions, intricate moldings, and abundant natural light, introducing a restrained palette of premium materials and carefully curated furnishings that create an atmosphere of understated luxury.
The interior is a sophisticated combination of black wood, travertine marble, and European oak parquet, establishing a timeless contrast that flows seamlessly throughout the residence. The social spaces are conceived as interconnected environments, where custom-built black timber shelving frames views between rooms while serving as both architectural feature and display gallery. These sculptural joinery elements introduce rhythm and depth, balancing the elegance of the traditional architecture with crisp contemporary lines – a dialogue that resonates across the built environment.
The living and dining areas are furnished with iconic pieces from Maxalto, Minotti, Poltrona Frau, Henge, and B&B Italia, selected for their refined craftsmanship and quiet sophistication. Soft neutral tones allow artwork, decorative objects, and natural materials to take center stage, while concealed lighting highlights textures without overwhelming the spaces. The result is an interior that feels intimate despite its generous scale.
The kitchen reflects the same philosophy of precision and minimalism. Custom cabinetry by Molteni&C, paired with professional-grade Gaggenau appliances, transforms the culinary space into an elegant extension of the living areas. Throughout the private quarters, Rimadesio wardrobes integrate effortlessly into the architecture, while bespoke wall coverings by Sophie Mallebranche and Arte introduce subtle texture and warmth – an approach increasingly valued within the built environment.
Bathrooms featuring Antonio Lupi sanitary ware continue the restrained material palette, creating spa-like retreats defined by sculptural forms, natural stone, and soft daylight. Every detail, from the carefully integrated lighting to the bespoke millwork, contributes to an atmosphere of effortless elegance.
