Bespoke Barn-Style Home, Heritage Setting
By: Decade Three
Planning permission and listed building consent has been secured for a bespoke barn-style dwelling within the setting of a Grade II listed building.
The proposal introduces a striking contemporary design, using clean lines and carefully considered openings to maximise views across the surrounding countryside. Decade Three was appointed following pre-application advice that identified the need for an exceptionally high-quality design and a robust planning justification.
The scheme presented a number of sensitive planning challenges, requiring close collaboration and the integration of in-house planning expertise to support the design process. This approach enabled a clear and well-evidenced case to be made, resulting in planning permission being granted at the first attempt.
The approved scheme successfully balances contemporary architecture with heritage sensitivity, and we look forward to sharing further details as the project progresses.
